Job Description:

Overview

The General Office Assistant acts as the first contact for anyone that calls/enters DHQ. They will receive visitors, vendors, phone calls and direct them to the proper department. In addition, this position will assist in office functions including, but not limited to mail room operations, administrative functions within various departments and assist with special events and the operations of DHQ.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Greet visitors to DHQ and direct them accordingly.

+ Answer telephones and respond to caller inquiries/re-direct callers.

+ Sort, screen and distribute incoming/outgoing mail, including processing of weekly all-Corps mail.

+ Receive incoming packages and distribute accordingly.

+ Prepare and process outgoing UPS express shipments as requested.

+ Provide assistance to the Service Extension Director and Regional Services Coordinator including processing Service Unit Reimbursements.

+ Assist with special event preparation and coordination (New Officer Orientation, Retired Officer Luncheon etc.)

+ Perform general administrative duties as assigned.

+ Work closely with Executive Administrator and Facilities Director to maintain operations Within DHQ.

Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel programs
