Purpose: The Divisional Sales Manager (DSM) plays a pivotal role in Crystal Clean's mission by providing comprehensive facility consultations and audits to manufacturing, industrial, and large maintenance operations. This position collaborates closely with the Branch Sales Manager (BSM) to deliver consultative evaluations, prepare detailed reports and proposals, and drive the implementation of tailored environmental solutions. The DSM is also responsible for training the sales team to effectively assist Crystal Clean customers in managing compliance needs and financial budgets. Extensive knowledge of environmental services, Crystal Clean product applications, and regulatory standards (RCRA/OSHA) are essential to excel in this role.
Specific Duties:
- Account Retention and Development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts, both new and existing, within the assigned area to drive business growth.
- Training and Development: Conduct weekly Branch Sales Manager/Environmental Solutions Program training sessions via Teams to enhance team members' knowledge and skills in environmental solutions sales.
- Sales Performance: Achieve sales quotas for all Environmental Solutions programs within the assigned territory.
- Customer Service and Business Development: Provide exceptional customer service and identify opportunities for new business development within the designated geographic area.
- Consultative Sales Approach: Collaborate with Branch Sales Managers to identify customer needs, present Crystal Clean products and services, and develop customized solutions.
- Environmental Evaluation: Perform detailed on-site environmental audits of potential customer facilities, prepare comprehensive reports and proposals, and deliver impactful presentations to prospective customers.
- Collaboration and Follow-Up: Work closely with field sales representatives to follow up on ES presentations and assist in closing deals.
- Training and Support: Provide account management training to ensure thorough implementation of products and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Compliance and Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately and ensure personnel compliance with EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulatory requirements.
- Corporate Policy Adherence: Adhere to all corporate policies and standards, including environmental and regulatory guidelines, human resources, and operational procedures.
- Responsible for engaging in and promoting safe work behaviors at all times in accordance with Crystal Clean's Vision, Mission, and Values.
Core Competencies and Specific Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and train sales branch employees effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and other corporate departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- In-depth knowledge of RCRA regulations and experience in environmental audits.
- Proven ability to increase sales and foster growth across all lines of business.
- Flexibility to adhere to a specific travel schedule of up to 40%, including travel every three weeks.
Work Experience:
- Preferred sales experience, ideally in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- CHMM, CSP, REM certifications preferred
- Five years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Valid driver's license
- Motor vehicle record (MVR) that meets or exceeds HCC's published standards.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Work includes conducting waste sampling and assessing conditions in industrials settings, therefore, the candidate must have the ability to wear necessary PPE, including a respirator, steel toe boots, gloves, uniform, safety glasses, reflective vest, and hard hats.
Work Environment:
- The role involves working in various environments, requiring physical tasks such as:
- Bending & squatting (e.g., evaluating waste labels on containers)
- Climbing (e.g., getting into and out of CMVs while riding along with field employees)
- Lifting & twisting (e.g., picking up and moving small 1–5-gallon containers)
- Standing & walking (e.g., walking through industrial plants for extended periods of time)
