Position Overview
The Executive Secretary III position serves the Warden and the entire facility. The ideal candidate should be able to manage multipole duties and assignments in real time. We encourage all that meet the minimum requirements to apply.
Essential Functions
* As an administrative secretary, gathers data for and monitors special projects to ensure timely completion, apprising supervisor of any significant problems encountered.
* As a secretary, keyboards correspondence, memoranda, reports and other documents.
* Composes correspondence and signs supervisor's signature.
* Monitors Employee Review Board (ERB) hearings and oral reprimands.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of secretarial or business college and three (3) years of secretarial experience; OR completion of high school and five (5) years of secretarial experience.
* Requires ability to type accurately at 55 wpm.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prefers at least two (2) years of experience working in a physical office setting.
* Prefers at least one (1) year of experience working as a secretary for administrative staff.
* Prefers at least two (2) years of work experience communicating clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
* Prefers at least two (2) years of work experience interacting with management, officials of government, private industry and/or the public.
* Prefers at least two (2) years of work experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite programs or similar computer programs.
* Prefers at least two (2) years of work experience maintaining and managing information databases.
* Prefers at least two (2) years of work experience in an office with access to confidential information.
* Prefers at least two (2) years of work experience operating common office equipment and tools.

* Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
* Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
