This position is to serve as the Assistant Warden of Programs (Senior Public Service Administrator Option 7) for the IL Department of Corrections at Lincoln Correctional Center.

As a key leader within the Illinois Department of Corrections, you'll oversee the daily functions of our minimum security adult male facility, ensuring safety and efficiency. In this role, you'll shape policies, supervise staff, and coordinate programs. Essential Functions

* As Assistant Warden, provides input into the development, establishment, and implementation of institutional rules, regulations, directives, policies, and procedures of the institution, to ensure proper operation of daily functions.

* Plans, organizes and directs the overall Program functions and their managers, including health care services, record office, chaplaincy, and clinical services and leisure activity.

* Conducts interviews and counsels individuals in custody.

* Serves as full line supervisor.

* Conducts daily routine inspection tours of the institution for security, safety and sanitation and makes recommendations to the Warden as to any changes, problems or improvements that may be needed.

* Serves on various committees, e.g., serves as Employee Review Board Officer and attends hearing and recommends disciplinary action for infractions of the rules and regulations.

* Travels to various locations to attend management meetings, trainings and to speak to lay and professional groups regarding the institution programs.

* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in law enforcement, criminology, penology or a related field.

* Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a law enforcement public or private organization, a correctional facility or related field.

Conditions of Employment

* Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.

* Requires appropriate, valid driver's license.

* Requires ability to qualify with firearms within twelve (12) months of start date, and annually thereafter in accordance with agency directive and state or federal laws.

* Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.

* Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.

* Requires the ability to be on-call.

* Requires use of agency-supplied technology
