Department Personnel are prohibited from the use or possession of a medicinal marijuana card pursuant to this policy and state law.Position InformationClass Code: M046CGrade: GS07FLSA Status: EXEMPTSalary Range: $40,340.00 - $64,343.00SummaryThe Arkansas Department of Correction/Department of Community Correction (ADC/DCC) Treatment Coordinator is responsible for providing substance abuse treatment and/or mental health services to inmates/residents. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.FunctionsCoordinates and directs education and mental health services for inmates/residents, reviews and disseminates assessment reports, and makes recommendations and referrals. Manages inmates/clients' mental health formula by electronically generating prescription schedule, tracking medication usage, and documenting medication inventory. Directs or conducts inmates'/residents' staffing to ensure due process and makes recommendations for treatment and placement. Develops treatment and security policies and procedures for the department and writes and disseminates standard operating procedures for the units. Prepares and presents annual budget to supervisor for treatment needs, submits requisitions for supplies, and maintains inventory. Conducts inmate/resident appeals, negotiates between staff and inmates/residents on placement or treatment recommendations, and approves final recommendation and documentation. Conducts staff meetings for an exchange of information and to keep staff abreast of policies and procedural changes. Coordinates requests for information from other agencies as needed. Audits inmate/resident records randomly to ensure that required reports are present and that accreditation standards are met. Maintains inmates/residents mental health closed files and oversees the microfilming and storing same. May supervise a staff of protective service and administrative support personnel by interviewing, recommending for hire, assigning and reviewing work, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Ability to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and recommend changes. Ability to offer guidance and support to inmates/residents.Minimum QualificationsThe formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field; plus three years of experience in psychology, social welfare, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
