As a Dock Worker for H-E-B Transportation, you'll load and unload trailers, safely and thoroughly. You'll operate MHE and promote a safe, clean work environment. We are looking for: - knowledge of warehouse process for sanitation (e.g., cleaning agents, supplies, tools) - ability to communicate effectively What is the work? Transportation Operations: - Plans and facilitates daily loading and unloading of H-E-B trailers of specific reusables (e.g., pallets, plastic trays and crates, boxes, wrap, ties, assorted returns) - Loads and unloads trailers in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with SOPs; unloads completely - Maintains clean trailers; operates wash equipment; washes trailers as needed - Operates material handling equipment - Promotes a safe and clean work environment - Maintains a sense of urgency; always prompt and punctual - Escalates issues outside parameters to appropriate parties What is your background? - High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) - 0+ years of experience Do you have what it takes to be a fit as a Dock Worker for H-E-B Transportation? - Knowledge of warehouse process for sanitation, including cleaning agents, supplies, and related tools - Working knowledge of related local, state, and federal regulations (preferred) - Math skills (+, -, *, /) - Reading and writing skills - Organization skills - Bi-lingual (English - Spanish) skills a plus - Ability to communicate effectively - Ability to work in a team environment - Ability to operate machines and equipment in a safe, independent manner - Ability to obtain and maintain certification in pallet jack and forklift operation - Ability to operate H-E-B in-house systems (e.g., TINA) - Attention to detail Can you... - Constantly* stand, walk, and squat - Frequently lift and carry 7 lbs for duration of a 10 to 12-hour shift - Occasionally lift up to 57 lbs - Occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, and floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, and pivot - Work in multi-temperature zones * While there may be exceptions, the measurements noted are generally defined as--Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day; Frequently: 2.5 - 5.5 hours per 8-hour day; Occasionally: 0 - 2.5 hours per 8-hour day 10-2022
