Job Description:

Amundsen Davis, a full-service business law firm, is seeking an experienced Docketing Manager to join a strong team and an excellent firm culture! The Docketing Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate management of all legal deadlines and docketing activities within the firm. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff to maintain compliance with court rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the docketing team to ensure efficient and accurate tracking of court deadlines, filings, and other critical dates.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive docketing system to facilitate timely reminders and updates.
  • Establish and implement docketing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Regularly review and update policies in accordance with changes in legal practices or court rules.
  • Supervise and mentor docketing staff, providing training and ongoing support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to understand their docketing needs and provide assistance as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with court personnel to resolve any docket-related issues.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all docketing records and documentation.
  • Generate reports and analytics on docketing activities for management review.
  • Manage and optimize the use of docketing software and tools to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Stay updated on advancements in docketing technology and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and ensure high standards of performance within the docketing team.
  • Conduct regular audits of docketing entries and procedures to identify areas for improvement.

Required Competencies, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in docketing or legal operations within a law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
