Advanced Photonix, located in Camarillo, CA, is seeking a Document Control Clerk. The candidate is responsible for all document control related activities and will participate in the execution of tasks as defined for the position in conjunction with Quality functional leadership. This position provides document control support to engineering, customers, suppliers, partners, and applicable internal functional departments and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. This position also participates in the quality assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements. This person will coordinate the receipt, processing, and transmission of information to ensure the control and protection of quality, engineering, and ITAR related documents using a variety of information systems. The candidate is responsible for managing all documentation changes and will take ownership of the engineering change order process (ECO). They will engage in work with our internal engineers, production groups, and sales teams to address a variety of projects and requests.
Responsibilities
* Update and maintain logs, databases, ERP, and departmental metrics.
* Maintain files of engineering drawings, project reports, specifications, and documentation.
* Prepare process and status reports, assign and monitor document numbers, and reviews documents for accuracy and completeness.
* Ensure documents meet standards for production.
* Use AutoCAD software, Adobe, or other software for reproduction of documentation.
* Facilitate and control ITAR type documentation in accordance with company requirements.
* Facilitate new hire QMS orientation, maintain company training records/files internal, and database records.
* Facilitate and process all ECO's through standard documentation workflow.

* Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
* It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.

Qualifications
* High School degree or equivalent required.
* Minimum of 4 years' experience in document control within a manufacturing environment is needed.
* Requires a strong knowledge of configuration management and electronic filing systems.
* Must have comprehensive knowledge of using Microsoft Suite software, including Word, Excel, Visio, as well Adobe and WinZip.
* Strong ability in computer-aided design and drafting software, preferably AutoCAD, strongly desired.
* Understanding of industrial and customer specific quality registration schemes and certification process, i.e. AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.
* Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, being able to maintain productive working relationships.
* The ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
* Time management, where meeting deadlines and achieving company goals are essential.
* Organizational skills are necessary for the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. This skill involves being organized, efficient, and able to prioritize tasks based on their importance and urgency.
