This includes scanning and/or reviewing scanned incoming filings with the Supreme Court, historical files, records, and briefs. Emphasizes accuracy and archival quality of scanned images according to established Court policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION This job bulletin represents general duties for this position and is not intended to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Conduct thorough reviews of scanned digital images in closed appellate case files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper indexing within the appellate case management system.
- Identify and report missing documents, improper indexing, or discrepancies in scanned records. Ensure no destruction of physical records is authorized until corrections are verified and completed.
- Verify that documents containing personal data identifiers are properly redacted or marked as non-public, in accordance with Court policies.
- Ensure the destruction of paper records follows the Court's retention schedule and meets the South Carolina Department of Archives and History's standards for using digital images as official records.
- Upload and organize digital images in the appellate case management system and in labeled folders, maintaining consistency with established Court protocols.
- Utilize various scanning machines to produce high-quality, archival images of Supreme Court filings, records, and documents, ensuring adherence to accuracy standards.
- As directed by the Records Management Specialist, review and follow up on scanned records to ensure compliance with Court procedures and retention policies.
- After completing training, rotate through different tasks as needed, providing support for various records management functions.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Clerk of the Supreme Court and the Records Management Specialist.
- All other duties assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)
- High school diploma
- Prior work experience with high-speed scanners and/or records management.
- Intermediate proficiency in the use of modern office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must have familiarity with and ability to use a personal computer and be able to upload, convert, and save files.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Knowledge:
- Understands and complies with all ethical requirements applicable to court employees and maintains confidentiality regarding all non-public information related to cases, including internal communications.

- Prior experience as a Document Imaging Specialist I or prior experience with high-speed scanners and/or records management in a court or legal environment.
