Koniag Professional Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Document Reviewer Level 4 (DRL4) to conduct classification and declassification reviews in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures for various types of classified and controlled information. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in sensitive technical areas related to nuclear weapons, nuclear material production, counterintelligence, and weapon science. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing and determining the classification level of information pertaining to Restricted Data (RD), Formerly Restricted Data (FRD), Transclassified Foreign Nuclear Information (TFNI), National Security Information (NSI), and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI) in the following technical areas:
    • Nuclear weapons design and improvised nuclear devices
    • Nuclear material production and isotope separation technologies
    • Counterintelligence and nuclear intelligence
    • Weapon science and inertial confinement fusion
  • Determining whether information is classified, UCNI, other Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), or unclassified.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of classification, UCNI, and other CUI programs as required.
  • Performing the duties of a Document Reviewer Level 3 (DRL3) when necessary.
Requirements: Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a physical science from an accredited college or university.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to read and understand written English at or above academic grade 15, as demonstrated by a passing score on the Nelson Denny reading assessment or equivalent.
  • Must qualify as a Derivative Classifier (DC), UCNI Reviewing Official (UCNI RO), and Derivative Declassifier (DD) by the end of the contract transition period. For new hires, DC and UCNI RO qualification must be achieved within three (3) months, and DD qualification within nine (9) months of qualifying as a DC, not exceeding twelve (12) months from hire.
  • At least five (5) years of total field or program office experience in one or more of the specified technical areas.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively convey complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and applying classification guidelines, regulations, and procedures related to RD, FRD, TFNI, NSI, and UCNI.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and handling classified and controlled unclassified information.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Qualification as a DOE Derivative Classifier (DC), UCNI Reviewing Official (UCNI RO), and Derivative Declassifier (DD) at the time of hire.
  • Experience serving a two-year tour of duty as a Military Research Associate (MRA), or equivalent commercial/private service, at a national laboratory in the nuclear weapon area.
  • Current experience identifying classified information in government records or developing classification guidance, and five (5) or more years of experience as a Derivative Declassifier (DD) or equivalent.
Working Environment & Conditions This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
