Position Details: The Documentation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of all documentation related to healthcare operations. This role involves collaborating with diverse teams to streamline documentation processes, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the organization, storage, and retrieval of documentation files, ensuring they meet regulatory and accreditation standards
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to develop and standardize documentation procedures and templates
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures related to documentation practices
- Conduct regular audits of documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Monitor and inform providers of missing or incomplete documentation on a daily basis, and escalate when necessary
- Train staff on documentation best practices and proper use of health information systems
- Act as a liaison between departments to facilitate communication and ensure consistent documentation standards
- Monitor changes in healthcare regulations and assist in implementing necessary updates to documentation practices
- Assist with quality assurance initiatives and reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare documentation or administration preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and patient privacy laws (HIPAA).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
