Russell Tobin is working with a leading specialty manufacturer to bring a talented Documentation Engineer (Electrical Engineering focus) on to their team! This is a contract role with an expected duration of 3-4 months, with potential for extension.

The Documentation Engineer creates, maintains, and organizes technical documentation for products and systems, ensuring clarity and alignment with corporate, regulatory, and industry standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, they support product development efforts and manage document consistency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Documentation Creation: Develop product drawings, models, Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical reports, and catalog relevant certifications and standards.
• Documentation Management: Organize, track, and share documents to support development.
• Collaboration: Work with teams to ensure consistent and accurate documentation.
• Compliance: Ensure documents meet regulatory and corporate requirements.
• Template Development: Create and maintain standardized templates.

Specific to This Role:

Support the development and commercialization of the third-generation transmitter for utility infrastructure locating, addressing component end-of-life issues, and updating hardware, software, and power supply. Assist in completing the design documentation package for regulatory compliance and manufacturing, targeting a global launch in June 2025. Additional tasks may include verifying legacy documentation for accuracy.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Trade degree in drafting or bachelor's in engineering.
• Experience in electronic hardgoods and new product development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PLM, or CAD software (e.g., Unigraphics).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
