Job Description:
The New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) provides temporary help to individuals and families with social service and economic needs to assist them in reaching self-sufficiency via essential and diverse programs/services, such as: temporary Cash Assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), childcare, eviction prevention services, adult protective services, job training, employment plans/support, domestic violence assistance, child support enforcement, etc. The employees of Employment & Support Services Administration- Career Services help provide unique individual services to eligible New Yorkers aimed towards the achievement of long-term self-sufficiency.HRA's Division of Education and Youth Services/ Training Assessment Group (TAG) and Community Service Management (CSM) is part of a larger system that assists Cash Assistance and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applicants/recipients in finding employment. TAG/CSM works in increasing the employment participation/engagement rate of clients/participants and securing placement for clients that are not engaged/employed full-time by making initial assessments on eligibility for employment training. TAG/CSM also maintains a resource bank of educational, vocational training, career counseling and job placement programs offered throughout the city for the participants.The Career Services is recruiting for one (1) Clerical Associate III to function as Documentation Reviewers who will:* Facilitate participant intake process, including collection and review of documentation required to obtain approval in education and training programs.* Respond to requests for information from staff, the public or other agencies by determining information required, performing research on SEAMS, WMS and other systems.* Respond to client questions relating to their enrollment in education, training, and internship programs.* Perform scanning and indexing of all client files in the HRA One Viewer system, including data entry and retrieval on computerized systems.* Review records processed by the unit, identifying errors, and indicating need for corrective action.* Perform responsible clerical work by processing, recording, checking, and maintaining records and preparing reports.* Verify received information related to client enrollment, to confirm accuracy of information.* Prepare weekly and monthly reports for all vendors and maintain vendor rosters. Update WMS and SEAMS for reporting purposes.* Contact vendors as needed to request documentation on all Education/Internship Placement information.* Perform other related tasks, provides clerical back up assistance and special projects, as needed.Salary Range: $40,957- $47,100Work Location: 109 E 16 ST 11th FL, New York, NY 10003Hours/Schedule: 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM FlexMinimum QualificationsQualification RequirementsA four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.Skills RequirementKeyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.55a ProgramThis position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program.
