Through DoD SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes, Sierra Nevada Corporation provides internships to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These internships include up to six months of on-the-job training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.As a Logistics Specialist, you assist with the preparation of our logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. You'll support routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals, and tracking logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of our storage facilities. You'll learn applicable state, federal, and global regulations and import/export requirements.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.Responsibilities:Uses Costpoint system to document all inventory transactions.Uses Microsoft Word for various reports.Completes and distributes receiving records to appropriate Planner/Production ControlCounts, sorts incoming articles and stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelvesMaintains records on an automated PC system, Costpoint, and manual files as requiredReceives pick lists from Planning and pulls material from stock to assemble kitsCompletes and distributes transfer recordsRearranges storage as necessary to accommodate varying parts, components and finished stockMaintains storage areas in clean and orderly conditionComplies with all Company safety standards, policies and proceduresIssues and maintains a common office supply inventoryConducts cycle counting on inventoryConducts physical inventory on Government PropertyComputes work order costs and closes completed work packagesInvestigates problem itemsMaintains Discrepancy ReportPrepares requisitions for office supply needsPunctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursSupports Shipping and Receiving as necessaryOther duties as assignedMust-haves:Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge programHigh school diploma or GED equivalentA higher level degree may substitute for experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationBasic Microsoft Word and Excel skillsStrong communication and leadership skillsDecision making skillsAbility to work well with a teamThe ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is requiredPreferred:Costpoint experienceSNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more ( .IMPORTANT NOTICE:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
