Job Title:Donation AttendantClassification: Non-exempt, subject to overtime provisions of Fair Labor Standards Act.Revision Date: 10/2023Job Purpose:A Goodwill donation attendant is responsible for accepting, sorting, and organizing donated items at Goodwill stores or donation centers.Qualifications:Education: No formal education is required.Experience: No experience is necessary.Clearances: Must be able to obtain acceptable results for required background checks, including Act 151Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and Pennsylvania Criminal History Check. Goodwill will pay forthese clearances.Supervision Received:The Team Member functions under the direction of the Store Manager.Skills, Abilities, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Attendants welcome donors, provide receipts, and offer assistance with unloading donations from vehiclesInspect donated items to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. This may include checking for damages or items that cannot be acceptedCategorize items, such as clothing, furniture, electronics, and household goods. They organize donations to prepare them for display in the storeAssign prices to items based on guidelines provided by Goodwill. They need to have a good understanding of the value of different itemsResponsible for maintaining cleanliness in the donation area and ensuring donated items are stored neatlyPrepares shipments prior to truck arrival.
