The Donor Advisor is responsible for managing and building strong, ministry-oriented relationships with a portfolio of the organizations mid-level donors (individuals typically giving $10,000 - $100,000) to include annual solicitations of donors, care of those donors, keeping those donors informed of the impact of their gifts, and helping donors fulfill their passions and interests in EMFs ministry.
Here's some of what you will be doing...
- Work consistent with and in furtherance of the priorities established in the ministrys strategic plan.
- Execute a strategy, reflective of our culture and values, that increases the number of donors making gifts up to $100,000, with a specific focus on increasing gifts ranging from $10,000 - $50,000.
- Deliver consistently strong and comprehensive fundraising results including but not limited to closing mid-level gifts unrestricted and to campaigns, pledge drive success support, planned giving, and noncash gifts; ensure major and principal level donors are escalated with an appropriate transition plan.
- Ensure all calls, events, stewardship contacts, and information gathered in those activities are accurately recorded in the donors data record.
- Improve the year-over-year retention (or escalation) of mid-level donors and more fully engage them as partners.
- Meet all individual portfolio fundraising and other assigned goals.
- Work closely with prospect development and research to ensure your portfolio is maximized with current opportunity moving forward.
- Perform organized and highly effective, large-volume, early-stage discovery and qualification outreach to wealth-screened prospects, with positive results from colder calls as needed.
- Build teamwork and strong working relationships with the mid-level fundraisers and work cooperatively and collaboratively with your manager and other members of the department and ministry.
- Assist as needed with high quality experiences between ministry leadership and donors.
- Be responsive to all stakeholders of the mid-level fundraising program.
- Adhere to guidelines and administrative procedures including but not limited to submitting timely and accurate expense reimbursements and invoices.
- Such other duties as required to advance the mission of EMF.
Here's some experience and skills we are seeking...
- Minimum 3 years donor development and fundraising experience that includes regular personal contacts with donors (or transferable, preferably sales, experience).
- High energy professional with a track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts.
- Demonstrated ability to listen to and understand the goals, interests, and passions of donors.
- Effective time and detail management, able to manage and complete several projects concurrently.
- Ability to work strategically, set priorities, define goals and outcomes, detail tactics, and achieve results.
- An individual who is energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
- A commitment to accuracy, transparency, and accountability both internally and externally in conversations with donors and prospects, in marketing, and reporting.
- A passion for Christian ministry.
