Job Description:
Donor Advisor (Regular, Full-Time) DevelopmentReporting to the Senior Vice President of Development, the Donor Advisor manages and implements a comprehensive and integrated fundraising program to develop significant contributed income sources for the Museum expanding and diversifying LACMA's donor base. Responsibilities
  • Research, cultivate, and solicit significant donors from a variety of sources
  • Recommend and develop donor cultivation strategies with SVP and colleagues museum-wide
  • Develop marketing material for various fundraising programs
  • Edit donor letters, proposals, acknowledgements, and credit lines
  • Manage prospect activity for a portfolio of 40-60 individuals for large gifts and participates in all aspects of the gift cycle
  • Develop cultivation and target ask strategies for individuals in portfolio
  • Qualify and cultivate donors and prospects for the Capital Campaigns
  • Establish financial goals for each constituent in the caseload, working towards closing the $71 M+ needed for completion of the new Building Project
  • Qualify current donor networks, other program participants and event attendees for new prospects; works collaboratively with all development-related departments (membership, annual patrons program, exhibitions and restricted program support, planned giving and research), staff from all Museum content areas, and volunteers in order to prepare written proposals and meet fundraising targets
  • Manager a donor council/ group
  • Arrange high-level studio and gallery visits, artist activations for campaign dinners, behind-the-scenes tours of art installations, etc.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Benefits
  • The expected annual salary for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $95,000 - $110,000 subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA's comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Art History or Political Science preferred
  • Experience in a development or fundraising environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience servicing clients or patrons accustomed to an exceptionally high level of quality and responsiveness is required
  • Experience with Basecamp, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tessitura, or an equivalent ticketing and donor database software, is preferred
  • Experience with the Adobe Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop, preferred
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as well as travel
