The Kraft Family Blood Donor Center Blood Donor Recruiter is responsible for the cultivation, recruitment, and retention of blood donors for the purposes of achieving blood & platelet collection targets. This requires attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, discretion, and good judgement. In addition, ongoing coordination and collaboration with the Donor Center and the BWH Blood Bank Management is key to the success of the blood donation program. Coordination with the blood bank, nurse manager, nurse director, and donation staff are essential for success.

It is the responsibility of the donor recruiter to maintain balanced work and collection load. They shall independently plan their own work, set priorities, analyze workload, and donor schedules to deliver requisite donors needed for the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center to meet targets and goals. In addition, they will assist in presenting at team and department meeting monthly, and presenting to the public as needed.

Accuracy in all phases of the recruitment, donation, and the collection process must be followed to maintain the safety, purity and potency of the blood supply.

Develop creative marketing techniques to recruit donors within DFCI/BWH and to actively recruit external donors.

Promotes the center through articles, education, promotional campaigns etc. ,as well as person to person contact.

Routinely delivers presentations to community on the need for blood and platelets donation and will develop partnerships with blood drive sponsors.

Directs follow-up efforts to encourage regular participation by all donors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing and/or Communications or equivalent experience is preferred.

Previous professional sales or recruiting experience highly desirable.

Excellent communication and ability to work independently. Strong computer skills including direct experience with Microsoft office and ability to learn and productively use Donor Center specific software.

Exhibit excellent customer service when dealing with donors, patients,

the general public and staff.

Ability to communicate with leadership teams effectively to prioritize tasks to meet departmental needs.
