Job DescriptionPosition Purpose: Responsible for the care of our client's donor cows and heifers.Key Responsibilities:
- Keep donors clean, comfortable, and free from stress, disease, and injury.
- Feed donors to meet nutrient requirements.
- Maintain identification and location of donors.
- Provide communication of donor issues such as health concerns, bull choices, and updates to the client.
- Provide reproductive management including scheduling, hormone injections, heat detection, insemination, and presentation for palpation.
- Enter donor procedures and events in production database for accurate billing and record keeping.
- Maintain facilities such as cleaning pens, repairs and maintenance, and facilities picked up and orderly.
- Provide proper care of client semen including maintaining level of liquid nitrogen tanks, data entry of incoming semen and semen used.
- Maintain a professional image including presentable appearance and donor information kept positive and confidential.
- Follow Trans Ova's policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements:Minimum high school diploma or GED.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:Be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to operate skid loader, dump truck, pickup and trailer, tractor, and manure spreader. Working conditions are primarily an outdoor environment with extreme temperatures. Cattle, especially if handled improperly, can cause injury. Normal working hours are 40 to 50 per week. Rotations are used for weekends and holidays.Other skills/experience:Prior cattle handling and registered cattle experience are preferred.Prior A.I. experience preferred.
