Job Description:

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION Phlebotomy and collection of blood from homologous donors. Observation of donors for reactions and conducting confidential donor interviews. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.) Experience: Prior laboratory experience preferred. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Education and Training: N/A License, Certification # Registration: N/A Other Requirements: Flexibility and adaptability in emergency situations including working additional hours or shifts. Ability to work efficiently, accurately and alertly for extended periods of time, and under stress, to ensure against errors. Above average manual dexterity. Effective communication skills; use of computer systems, listening, writing, speaking and reading. Good interpersonal skills; ability to relate and communicate with patients, patient#s family, doctors, secretaries and nursing personnel. Moderate physical assistance for some donors into and out of the donor chairs. Willing to travel to a variety of sites in Berkshire County to conduct blood drives.
