Title: Database Administrator 3/Data Conversion Lead Max Bill Rate: *** Remote: 1 in-person meeting a month in Dover, Delaware Interview: Online Prefers candidates to be in Eastern Time Zone The candidate will provide expert level guidance in data conversion, data mapping and analysis. The candidate will be responsible for extract, transformation and load (ETL) of data from multiple data sources into a new integrated data system currently being implemented. The candidate will demonstrate expert data cleaning, management and analysis skills. This hybrid remote position requires regular work hours 37.5 hours/week - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with occasional flexibility for regularly scheduled meetings (no overtime). This project is expected to run until completion of the database implementation project (currently expected June 30th, 2025). Upon completion of the project and with exemplary work performance, there may be the opportunity to extend the work assignment for other data modernization activities. Essential Functions 1. Highly skilled at data/database conversions including data mapping, extract, transformation and load (ETL) of data following technical specifications documents and in accordance with *** policies 2. Experience and knowledge in supporting application system development life cycle 3. Proficiency in developing and maintaining data models, data warehouses, data dictionaries/codebooks and data integration processes 4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data-related issues 5. Expertise in iterative troubleshooting of errors and data cleaning issues 6. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all data handling activities 7. Knowledgeable in data analysis and database management techniques 8. Assist in coordinating software releases 9. Execution of all responsibilities with little direct supervision of Team Lead 10. Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner 11. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met 12. Communicate accurate and useful status updates 13. Manage and report time spent on all work activities 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective documentation and collaboration with team members 1. Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences 2. Anticipate and resolve issues specific to the project and team Job requirements 1. 5 or more years of experience in database administration, including at least 2 years at a Database Administrator 2 level or equivalent. 2. Strong experience in writing and optimizing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, and using .NET, C#, or other programming languages for data manipulation. 3. Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools for data conversion projects 4. Extensive experience managing and maintaining SQL Server, MySQL, or other database management systems 5. Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Preferred Requirements: 1. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or certifications in specific ETL tools 2. Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud) 3. Experience with Agile methodologies or other project management frameworks 4. Knowledge of the essential functions of public health 5. Knowledge of public health informatics in including methods of collecting, compiling and presenting health data 6. Knowledge of public health surveillance including collecting, analyzing and interpreting heath data 7. Knowledge of public health data modernization including enhancing or replacing legacy data systems
