Aerospace - Quality Inspector & DQR
Location: Utah - surrounding areas near Gunnison and Cedar City, Utah- (Within 120) miles
Job Type: As Needed
Frequency: Monday - Friday (potential weekends)
Duration: 12 mths
Hrs/week: approx 10-20 (no guarantee) vary weekly
Work Setting: Manufacturing
Must be able to work in manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
Job Description Summary:
Act as an extension of customer's DQR inspection requirements.
Function as a Designated Quality Representative (DQR) for applicable customer products and our 3rd party Supplier Development / Quality activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
- Perform routine and complex inspection and quality activities involved in the manufacture and development of products and processes, dimensional layout inspection and 'first article' verification
- Provide technical input in areas that involve process inspection methods and acceptance criteria to Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing
- Must have DQR and/or willing to obtain DQR
- Experience working in Aerospace manufacturing
- Intimate knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.
Qualifications
Qualification(s) -
- Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
- 3-5 years working in Quality or Engineering.
- 3-5 years CMM experience
- The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
- Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs). The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers. Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard.
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
- Perform all physical functions of position, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 l
- Familiarirty with QMS systems and tools
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to pass a drug screening and eye examination
- Will be working as an independent contractor (1099).
- Must have LLC/DBA or able to obtain an LLC/DBA
