The Role
The Drafter/Designer will be performing tasks that require fundamental drafting and design techniques as a part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. This role is responsible for preparing routine engineering and construction drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information, utilizing manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques. The Drafter/Designer will be involved in the application of engineering fundamentals to engineering design and will prepare preliminary designs for an engineer's or a senior designer's approval.
The Responsibilities
* Prepare and update existing AutoCAD drawings based on mark ups provided by senior designers or engineering staff.
* Create new drawings under the direction of senior design staff.
* Support vendor drawing review and approval process.
* Organize drawing production to support project schedules and conform to project scope.
* Prepare lists, spreadsheets, and databases to document information related to design drawings.
The Requirements
An associate's degree or drafting certificate; or any equivalent combination of education and drafting/design experience.
* Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to read drawings
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability and willingness to travel to an off-site location and/or accept client site assignments when required.
* Work cooperatively with other drafters and other disciplines to produce a coordinated set of design documents.
* Regular and reliable attendance
