This opportunity is your chance to work on multi-disciplined transportation projects that focus on highway, roadway, and interchange projects.When you join us, you'll perform civil design calculations, computer modeling, detailing, and plan set production for highway, roadway, sitework, drainage, detention/retention, and utilities projects with an emphasis on hydrology and hydraulics.You'll utilize your expertise to conduct drainage design per the requirements of each project and various clients such as Departments of Transportation, Cities / Municipalities and private owners.We'll ask you to prepare drainage reports, feasibility studies and drainage master plans utilizing drainage software - StormCAD, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, HYPoack, and MS4 solutions. You'll also need to utilize hydrology / hydraulic software - HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and SWMM.As a key member of the team, you'll prepare engineering documents, construction cost estimates and attend kick-off and design review meetings, and interact with clients as level of experience progresses. You'll provide mentorship and guidance to more junior staff and serve as an expert to highway and bridge designers.The final candidate could be located in metro Detroit, Michigan or Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincinati, Ohio.• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering• Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan or Ohio depending on location (preferably both)• Previous professional experience in hydrology, hydraulics and drainage design for state department of transportation projects• Exercise sound judgment in the evaluation, selection and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria within the civil engineering discipline.• Knowledge of green infrastructure and sustainable design techniques as they relate to storm water management.• Working knowledge of CAD Systems - OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D• Proficient in drainage software - StormCAD, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, HY8 and PondPack.• Proficient in hydrology / hydraulic software - HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and SWMM.• Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.• Efficiently utilize time in executing assigned tasks accurately and on time.• Capable of performing Civil Engineering tasks in the fields of roadway engineering and site design when needed.Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
