Position Summary

Provide engineering technical support to the Drilling Engineering & Operations team while working closely with other departments at Chord to execute business objectives. Act as the Drilling Team's data champion by owning WellView and serving on the Data Governance Committee. Compile, review, and distribute key performance indicators (KPIs)/metrics using PowerBI, SpotFire, and/or Sigma. Lead rig readiness activities for Drilling by verifying regulatory and planning documents are approved for field prior to spud. This position reports to the Drilling Director and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

* Oversee QA/QC of daily drilling entries, well initiation, and data cleanup efforts in WellView

* Work closely with Business Development, Permitting, and Construction to update Drill Schedule by providing forecasted rig release dates and attending bi-weekly Rig Line meetings.

* Distribute drill schedule to key stakeholders on weekly basis

* Facilitate Chord's execution handover process from Drilling to Completions

* Build and maintain drilling dashboards using SpotFire, PowerBI, or Sigma

* Provide analysis of various performance trends including drilling KPI's, benchmarking, downtime, post well reviews, vendor performance, etc.

* Prepare and monitor various capital cost analysis of AFE/budget, field estimates, and actuals

* Complete monthly accruals by reviewing and providing commentary to incremental, PPAs, and releases

* Assist Drilling Engineers and Superintendents in working with Supply Chain on MSAs and onboarding of new vendors

* Assist Drilling Engineers in preparing AFE packages, procedures, and other technical support activities

* Ensure proper regulatory and planning documents are uploaded to WellDrive prior to spud for rig readiness

* Available to provide field support training and assist as needed in collaboration with IT

* Support various departmental requests and projects: software integrations, GIS/Compass Mapping, HSE reporting, Audits, Data Governance, etc.

* Travel to field and visit rig sites 2-4 times per year

Minimum Qualifications

* Associate's degree or equivalent experience

* 3 years of relevant work experience

* 2 years of experience using Enterprise Database Applications

* Can demonstrate MS Excel skills such as using pivot tables, v-lookups, and other formulas

* Experience with querying ad-hoc reports using SQL and analyzing drilling data

* Excellent at communication and can work interdepartmentally with field and office personnel

* Possesses a basic understanding of oil and gas terminology with emphasis in drilling operations

* Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently and remotely at times

* Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company

* Ability to meet deadlines

* Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualification

* Bachelor's degree or Technical degree

* 5 years of oil and gas experience, specifically with an E&P Operator as an Engineering Tech/Analyst

* 2 years of experience using Peloton WellView

* Capable of producing and maintaining Drilling Dashboards using SpotFire, PowerBI, and/or Sigma

* Familiar with Snowflake and is skilled in SQL and/or Python languages

* Drilling and/or Completions field experience
