Job Summary Essential duties and responsibilities include driving truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations, completing necessary paperwork related to tasks and other duties assigned by the Company. Additionally, truck drivers are responsible for making sure preventative maintenance has been completed on motorized vehicles when necessary. This position also requires strong attention to detail.Responsibilities
- Follows safe work practices.
- Inspection of truck and truck equipment.
- Responsible for completion of pre and post trip inspection forms.
- Once inspection form is completed, driver completes necessary routine repairs/maintenance including but not limited to the installation of light bulbs, tire chains, spark plugs, fueling, oil, coolant, dry gas, etc.
- Responsible for reporting mechanical and safety deficiencies to management beyond driver's responsibilities for repair.
- Loads and unloads truck by use of appropriate equipment.
- Responsible for padding, stacking, and securing items in position on truck to prevent any damage during shipment.
- Positions blocks, chains and straps around items to secure cargo during transit.
- Verifies load against shipping papers.
- Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Must obey all state and federal traffic laws and regulations.
- Prepares receipts for company's internal load transportation.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Driver is responsible to see that the truck is properly fueled upon his return trip.
- Responsible for maintaining the interior of the cab and side boxes in clean and presentable condition. This includes but is not limited to the removal of trash and proper stowage of equipment in the cab side boxes.

- Employee must sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Employee must be able to read, see, hear, and speak English.
- Position requires frequent physical exertion. Incumbent will frequently be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, and larger amounts with assistance. Incumbent may need to operate crane and forklift.
- The work location includes a warehouse and fabrication shop setting, which will expose the employee to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
- Position requires limited exposure to outdoor elements (extreme heat, cold temperatures, snow, ice, etc.).
- Employee must wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection and steel-toed boots, and any other PPE as required in the production area. PPE will be provided by the company with the exception of steel-toed boots.
- Employee will give full attention to all tasks.
- Employee will follow all safety policies/practices/guidelines and will ensure all safety requirements are met or exceeded when performing all tasks.
- Employee will work to identify hazards and unusual circumstances and will assist in the continual improvement of safety practices and procedures.
- Employee will participate in safety training programs.
- Employee will ask questions, share and apply learning.
- Employee will request help (if needed) to do all work safely.
Job RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. Valid CDL with a Class A or Class B endorsement. You must also be able to pass a FMCSA (Federal Motor Vehicle Carrier Safety Association) Driver qualification.
