The C. Harper Auto Group is looking for a Reliable Driver!This is an On-Call position, allowing you the ability to accept or decline the work when you are unavailable to drive that day or week. Hours available will vary week to week. Drivers will be called a day to a few days in advance to schedule work. Drivers have the option to drive locally and/or further distances for dealer trades, vehicle deliveries, helping the Commercial Truck Center with tasks, etc. Sometimes you will drive alone, other times you will have another driver go with you as the Chase Vehicle . Driving tasks can last and are not limited to a day. We do have situations where our drivers stay overnight at the drop off location and report back the next day. (Of course these are optional trips for capable drivers.)
- Main requirements for the position are a Valid Driver's License and Good Driving Record.
Key Responsibilities for the C. Harper Auto Group Driver Position Listed Below:Vehicle Transportation:
- Safely drive and transport vehicles to and from different locations.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after transportation to identify any damages and report them to the appropriate department
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by being polite, professional, and helpful to customers during vehicle drop-offs and pickups.
- Answer customer questions regarding the transportation process and dealership services.
- Address customer concerns promptly and report any issues to the relevant department.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Maintain a clean driving record and report any traffic violations or accidents to the management immediately.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of oneself, customers, and the vehicles being transported.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform basic maintenance checks on the assigned vehicle, such as checking oil, fuel, and tire pressure.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to the maintenance team.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and presentable at all times.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle transportation activities, including mileage, destinations, and delivery times.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery receipts and vehicle inspection reports, accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in vehicle transportation or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
- Attention to detail and a focus on safety.
Working Conditions:
- This is an On-Call Position, with flexible hours based on transportation needs.
- Requires frequent driving and the ability to sit for extended periods.
- May involve occasional lifting and carrying of light to moderately heavy objects.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, as the job involves outdoor activities.
