Our Driver-Porter/Paint Technician Assistants provide parking and retrieval services for customer vehicles as well as support our Paint Technicians. There are various tasks related to the preparation, painting, and finishing of vehicles. in other areas as assigned, work closely with team to meet deadlines, keep area clean and organized for production efficiency). This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for automotive work.RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesQualifications/Experience:
- One to two years of auto body prepping experience is required (prepare vehicles properly for paint, including taping, masking, priming) as well as safely parking/retrieving customer vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Vocational training or certification in automotive painting or related field is a plus.
Driver-Porter:
- Safely and efficiently park customers' vehicles.
- Retrieve parked vehicles upon customer request,
- Keeping the parking areas clean and organized.
Preparation:
- Assist in cleaning and preparing vehicles for painting by washing, sanding, and masking as required.
- Help in mixing and preparing paint according to the required specifications.
- Ensure all surfaces are properly prepared before painting, including minor repairs and touch-ups.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure quality finishes and prevent contamination.
Finishing:
- Assist in inspecting painted surfaces for defects and imperfections.
- Perform post-painting tasks such as polishing, buffing, and detailing to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Support in the reassembly of vehicle components post-painting.
Maintenance:
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly and kept in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
