Job Position: Driver Cooperative-Colorado General Manager (on-site)

Drivers Cooperative-Colorado is accepting applicants for a general manager position. We seek candidates with an understanding of the platform cooperative movement, a clear vision and commitment to social change, and demonstrated leadership skills to grow our drivers' cooperative to the next level.

The Drivers Cooperative-Colorado is Colorado's platform worker cooperative for rideshare drivers in Colorado, which has launched the very first community-led on-demand app for rideshare arrangements in the U.S. The Drivers Cooperative-Colorado is a worker-owned cooperative that utilizes a platform, Coop-Colorado, as a community-owned alternative app to Uber/Lyft, providing rideshare drivers with better wages and working conditions.

As a cooperative incubation project of the Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center (RMEOC) that promotes employee-owned businesses to create a just and fairer economy, the Drivers Cooperative-Colorado is committed to higher wages for drivers, more affordable fares for riders, and better transportation services for marginalized communities (refugees, elderly, the disabled, etc.),

With the public launch of our app in September, we have had rapidly growing numbers of riders and drivers who have joined our cooperative rideshare project. We expect to have a large increase in the number of users and drivers over time.

Eligibility requirements General Manager applicants are as follows.

Requirements:

  • Experience in relevant cultural settings and work experience as a rideshare driver: Candidates must have work experience as a rideshare driver for at least for two years and have close personal or professional experience with diverse immigrant populations.
  • Relevant Work Experience: Professional experience working with underserved communities or immigrant populations for at least for 2 years
  • Strong leadership and business management skills.Excellent writing skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to social change
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Institution

Desired Qualities

In addition to the requirements above, we hope to find candidates with these desired qualities

  • Education preference: A Master's Degree or similar advanced degree in social science, business administration or management.
  • Bilingual: Bilingual speaking ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Effective daily management of all aspects of the cooperative to ensure project growth
  • Raise capital for the cooperative and manage finances to ensure project health
  • Supervise and manage all other staff hired for the Drivers Cooperative-Colorado
  • Promotion and public representation of the Coop to the community, working collaboratively with clients, community partners, and public officials
  • Design and maintain strategies to ensure democratic accountability of the cooperative to its worker-owners

Salary: $78,000 a year. Health benefits such as health insurance, dental, and vision insurance are provided.
