Job Description:
The Washington County provides direct and indirect services for persons involved with Children and Youth Services. This position has a responsibility for collaborating with the client and/or their parent/guardian to identify resources that will build upon each individual's strengths and support and maintain their path towards recovery. This person ensures that these clients and their families have access to services on a continuum of care by identifying and referring to appropriate services. Major responsibilities include screenings, assessments, service planning, agency/provider collaboration, agency education/training, documentation, and data tracking. Must also work in collaboration with key members of the court system and provider community. This position will work under the supervision of the HSAO Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Supervisor and will perform the work in accordance with established regulations, policies, procedures, and supervisory review.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize screening processes to determine if individuals have any emergent care needs.
  • Link individuals who are part of a priority population to available interim services when appropriate.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments that evaluate both treatment and non-treatment needs and utilize the information to make level of care recommendations based on ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria.
  • Provide information on and connect individuals to services that address Social Determinant of Health needs.
  • Collaborate on an ongoing basis with CYS staff for purposes of service planning and case consultation.
  • Assist the individual and CYS in locating and obtaining needed treatment and support services.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and court hearings when appropriate.
  • Initiate and develop ongoing opportunities to train and educate staff at CYS on substance use and other related topics.
  • Assist in ensuring that documentation practices remain in compliance with D&A standards.
  • Document service delivery and track corresponding data to help identify trends and needs for individuals working with CYS who have substance use needs that can inform CYS leadership.
  • Engage with other providers to ensure that CYS is current with provider service offerings.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development in the Behavioral Health/D&A field.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.

  • Ability to be a self-starter and creative in identifying solutions to problems; knowing when to inform supervisor when obstacles arise.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to adapt to learn new software products.
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of diverse agencies, backgrounds, resources, and communities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) and other D&A principles.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, policies, and procedures and apply them accordingly
  • Possess or be willing to acquire an understanding of the Children and Youth Services programming.
  • General knowledge of the provider network and how to link individuals to services.
  • ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Possess Act 33, 34 and FBI Clearances.
  • Have a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle license, access to a personal vehicle, and have maximum auto insurance on an employee driven vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Full time position requiring 38.75 hours per week.
  • Possess or be willing to pursue credentialing in the D&A field through the Pennsylvania Certification Board
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMaster's Degree and one-year work experience working directly with persons with behavioral health needs OR a Bachelor Degree and two years work experience working directly with persons with drug and alcohol and/or behavioral health needs.
