Founded by Amherst, the full-service real estate solutions platform, Amherst StudioBuiltâ„¢ homes is an innovative approach to home development that utilizes offsite construction to create new housing supply at scale without sacrificing quality. StudioBuilt homes are constructed at Amherst's housing studio in Cuero, Texas as well as partner studios across the Southeast and then installed on site. At full capacity, the Cuero facility will create over 250 manufacturing jobs, making Amherst the third largest employer in the area. The StudioBuilt team is comprised of experienced individuals from all trades, working to continuously improve the production process.The Drywall Finisher performs skilled work finishing drywall panels in a verity of buildings by applying mud, taping, and sanding surfaces, skimming the walls, and professionally preparing the panels for painting or other finishing techniques. The successful candidate will also lead and help develop a small crew of manufacturing associates. If you possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership traits this is the opportunity for you to get in on the ground floor of a new venture in Modular housing in the Cuero, TX studio.Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Drywall Finisher - Tape and Texture associate will apply tape and texture within a production/plant environmentObjects that will be handled: Joint tape, mud mixer, 25-pound bags of mix, mixing and cleaning station, mud pump, drying fan, bags of joint mud, vapor barrier spray gun, texture spay gun, stomping toolWorks in a safe manner and follows all safety policies while performing job dutiesMaintains work area is kept clean and organizedFollows work orders and instructions on correct assembly of building componentsMaintains open communication with supervisor regarding safety concerns and assembly of building componentsMix and apply mud to taped drywall seamsApply vapor barrier using spray gunApply texturing material to ceiling using spray gun if requiredApply to a level 4 finish (smooth wall) is requiredClean and maintain equipmentMeeting weekly production goals per assigned DepartmentPerforms various other job duties as assigned and neededMaintain a good attendance recordDemonstrate a good work ethic based on principles of honesty and integrityRequired Skills and Experience High School DiplomaAt least 4-year relevant work experience to a level 4 (smooth wall) drywall finishAble to follow instructions, written and verbalFollow all safety practices, and wear appropriate PPEAble to work in a manufacturing environment including the physical demands of the jobAble to lift 50 lbsAble to stand for 8+ hours to accomplish work tasksAble to use the tools and processes for the roleRequires good manual dexterity (hand, arm, and multi-limb coordination)Able to work overtime as scheduledWork Environment While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to noise, wood products, plastics, lubricants moving mechanical parts and vibration.Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
