What You'll Do:
* Personal Care Assistance: Provide assistance with residents' activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while ensuring their comfort, privacy, and dignity.
* Safety and Security: Monitor resident for any signs of distress, illness, or emergencies. Follow safety protocols, including fall prevention measures, and respond appropriately to incidents.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care, including changes in condition, medication administration, and daily care activities.
* Communication: Collaborate effectively with the nursing team, caregivers, and other staff members to ensure seamless communication about residents' needs, concerns, and updates.
* Resident Engagement: Plan and participate in recreational activities, exercise programs, and social events to encourage residents' physical and emotional well-being. Tailor activities to residents' interests.
* Maintain Residents Privacy: Respect and protect residents' privacy and confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
What You Bring:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or GED is usually the minimum educational requirement.
* People Skills: Friendly, patient, and a good listener-you've got to be great with people. Our residents are like family, and we treat them that way.
* Team Player: We're all about teamwork here. You'll be working alongside our awesome nursing team and other team members, so being a team player is a must.
* Attention to Detail: Making sure our residents are comfortable and safe means being detail oriented. The little things matter.
Working Conditions: The Resident Assistant will primarily work within the assisted living unit of the facility. This role involves a combination of hands-on work, exposure to diverse needs, and interaction with residents, families, and staff.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly stands, bends, talks, hears, walks, sits, climbs stairs, stoops, uses hands and fingers to touch, handle, and feel, reaches with hands and arms, lifts and/or moves items of up to 50 pounds. The team member occasionally lifts and transfers residents, using proper body mechanics, and physically assists residents transition to wheelchairs, beds, stretchers, stationary chairs, and vehicles as needed. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The team member must be able to smell the odor in order to ensure resident safety and quality care.

What does it mean to be a PRN Team Member at Dominion?
PRN Team Members
PRN Team Members work a limited number of hours and are scheduled on an as needed basis during peak workload times and when staffing and/or scheduling issues warrant PRN Team Members are not eligible for company-provided benefits or paid holidays.
PRN Team Members Shift Refusals
Not responding to five attempts to pick up a PRN shift will be deemed as an unwillingness to work and will be treated as a voluntary resignation without notice, unless there is sufficient evidence of an emergency that prevented communication.
