Dynamometer Technician – Onsite/Travel

GM Performance Power Units LLC is seeking an experienced Dynamometer Technician for our growing team in Concord, NC. This onsite role supports Engine Development, Performance Parts, and Electrification (E-motor) in the development and validation of hardware and calibrations for racing, crate engines, and E-motors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct performance and racing Hybrid, ICE and E-motor dynamometer testing.
  • Collect, review, and validate testing data for accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers on testing procedures, equipment, and methods.
  • Work closely with the Instrumentation & Equipment team.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques for continuous improvement.
  • Champion safety in all aspects of work.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in mechanical/engineering field or 5+ years equivalent experience.
  • This role requires international travel on a periodical basis
  • 3+ years proven ability in:
  • Installing and removing automotive engines in dynamometer test cells.
  • Instrumentation and diagnostics in dynamometer test cells.
  • Engine component installation and replacement.
  • PUMA, INCA, and Indicom Test Bed Systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Intimate understanding of ICE and E-motor functionality and performance optimization.
  • Strong mechanical and fabrication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Customer-centric innovative thinking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with E-motor testing
  • Strong fabrication and welding expertise
  • Prior Racing or Performance experience
