Talascend is currently seeking an E-Commerce Demand Forecasting Business Analyst for a contract opportunity in Ridgefield Park, NJ. HYBRID Schedule US Citizenship or Perm Residency Required for this Position RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Collection and Organization:
- Gather and organize promotional data from internal system sources.
- Categorize promotions based on themes (e.g. national promotions, members only offer, product bundles, etc.)
- Develop a centralized data repository for easy access and analysis.
- Baseline Sales Forecasting:
- Utilize historical sales data; appropriate time series forecasting techniques- establish sales forecasts.
- Assist in cleansing promotional lifts from the baseline forecast to ensure accuracy.
- Support the development a weekly rolling forecast that incorporates baseline sales and promotional impacts.
- Price Elasticity Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive price elasticity analysis for different product categories and price points.
- Calculate sales lift multiplier based on historical data and promotional performance.
- Develop a standardized menu of sales lift multipliers to be used in order forecasting.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on demand forecasts, promotional performance.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Data Collection and Organization: Ability to gather, categorize, and organize promotional data from various sources.
- Baseline Sales Forecasting: Proficiency in utilizing historical sales data and applying time series forecasting techniques to establish accurate sales forecasts.
- Price Elasticity Analysis: Strong understanding of conducting price elasticity analysis for different product categories and price points and developing a standardized menu of sales lift multipliers for use in order forecasting.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on demand forecasts, promotional performance.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in demand forecasting, preferably in an ecommerce or retail environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel and SQL.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with ecommerce platforms and promotions tools is a plus.
PREFERRED:
- Experience using forecasting techniques like ARIMA, Prophet, exponential smoothing.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Adobe Analytics.
