As an essential member of our team, they will serve as a mentor and role model to our athletes, fostering their personal and athletic growth. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to upholding all OHSAA and Garfield Heights City Schools regulations, ensuring a culture of compliance and ethical conduct among our athletes. Key Responsibilities:
- Mentorship and Role Modeling: Provide guidance and mentorship to student athletes, instilling values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all OHSAA and Garfield Heights City Schools regulations, fostering a culture of ethical conduct both on and off the field.
- Program Development: Play a pivotal role in building a K-12 athletic program that nurtures talent from an early age and supports athletes' continuous growth.
- Holistic Development: Utilize athletics as a means to promote academic, social, and personal growth among student athletes.
- Game Strategy: Develop and implement effective game strategies, demonstrating a deep understanding of the sport.
- Team Management: Oversee team operations, including scheduling, equipment management, and communication with parents and stakeholders among other responsibilities.
- Safety: Prioritize the safety and well-being of student athletes during all athletic activities.
- Community Engagement: Collaborate with the community to build support for the athletic program and foster positive relationships.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student athlete progress, attendance, and team performance.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on coaching techniques, trends, and best practices in the field.
- Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or school administration.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pupil Activity Permit with the Ohio Department of Education
- Satifactory BCI/FBI report
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Ability to work effectively with others
