Levy Restaurants, a leading food and beverage operator, specializes in creating memorable dining experiences in sports and entertainment venues across the United States. E15, the in-house strategy & analytics arm of Compass Group (Levy's parent company), leverages data-driven insights to optimize operations and enhance guest experiences.

In this internship, you'll have the unique opportunity to work at the intersection of these two organizations, supporting their Sports & Entertainment business in the Phoenix market and the Mountain West Division. Teams you may assist with include the Arizona Diamondbacks, UC Boulder Buffs, UNM Lobos and more.

Your primary responsibility will involve developing and applying analytical tools (including modeling, reporting, and visualizations) to drive our business and improve guest experiences. Hours per week can be adjusted if you are a current student. This position is scheduled for 3 months with an option to extend.

This posting is for the Phoenix area, however, may require limited travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
  • Develop reporting standards and formats (heat maps, dashboards, slide decks, status updates) for partner and operator end use, ensuring clear communication of insights and recommendations.
  • Analyze and build optimal solutions for specific business needs (labor, speed of service, menu concentration) using developed analytical tools.
  • Utilize transactional data to perform sales reporting, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct routine data checks to maintain the integrity of transactional data and recommend corrective actions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for stakeholders.
  • Continuously refine and improve analytical tools based on team feedback and their application to real-world scenarios.
  • Limited travel may be required to attend meetings or events with stakeholders on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or in-progress degree in business strategy, business analytics, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree (such as a Master's) is considered a plus
  • Experience using Excel, SQL, R, Python, and/or Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
  • Ability to provide examples of using data to solve complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and the ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding oral, written and communication skills with the ability to present to small and large groups.
