For more information review the NEOGOV and General Responsibilities Under the direction and supervision of the Early Intervention Director, the Early Intervention Behavior Systems Coordinator will provide specialized coaching and intervention services for children ages birth to three who exhibit developmental delays or behavioral concerns. This position involves working closely with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team of professionals to promote positive behavioral change, enhance social-emotional development, and improve overall functioning across the child's daily routines and activities. The Early Intervention Behavior Systems Coordinator will utilize evidence-based strategies tailored to each child's developmental needs, while supporting parents and caregivers in implementing these strategies in everyday routines.Assignment:This position is 8 hours per day, 210 days per year, and will serve our Early Intervention program in Clark County.Salary:The full salary range for this position is $34.98 - $42.55 per hour/$58,766.23 - $71,483.80 annually. Collaborate with families and the early intervention team to identify strengths, challenges and target areas for intervention. Provide one-on-one or small group behavior coaching using evidence-based interventions, such as positive behavior support and play-based strategies.Support families in understanding and applying behavioral strategies in natural settings to support their child's behavior and development (i.e. home, daycare, community) through coaching and training.Maintain open communication with families, offering guidance, encouragement and resources.Offer support, resources, and tools to empower families to be able to best meet their child's social and emotional needs through play and structured, predictable routines.Coordinate and facilitate workshops or group sessions for parents on behavioral strategies and early childhood development.Co-develop an accessible online repository of behavior support resources with the Behavior Team for general information that can be accessed by the Early Intervention Team.Ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines for early intervention services and others as directed by funders.Other Functions:
Attend required meetings as determined by the Early Intervention calendar and other meetings as directed by the funding source. Stay current in best practice and new developments in early childhood behavior interventions, especially those related to children ages 0-3.Participate in ongoing training, workshops and supervision to enhance skills and knowledge.Adhere to professional and ethical standards in working with young children and families.Assist, when appropriate, transitions to early learning programs when a child turns three. Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license.Bachelor's degree in education/early childhood, psychology or related field; OR a high school diploma/GED and five years of experience working with students with behavior or mental health issues.Working knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations and procedures.Experience working in Special Education.Recent successful experience working in an educational/mental health setting with students who have social/emotional or behavioral challenges.Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of child development and family centered practices.Experience working with other professionals such as counselors, social workers, and psychologists as resources for planning and delivery of behavioral support programs.Experience working both independently and collaboratively within the child/student settingsExperience providing professional development to adults.Training and/or experience in implementing positive behavior supports, executive function, adverse childhood experiences, trauma informed care and attachment.Working Conditions/Employment Requirements Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
