Position Summary:If you enjoy working with children and making a positive impact, we would love to hear from you!We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team. As a key member of our childcare team, you will provide support and assistance across various classrooms during the afternoon hours. Part-time academic year position. Primary Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with classroom team to ensure that teamwork and communication is maintained. Support nurturing care and support as needed.
- Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor playtime and regularly throughout the day.
- Help maintain a safe, clean and organized environment.
- Assist with meal and snack times, including preparation and clean-up.
- Support children with their individual nap routines.
- Participate in professional growth and training opportunities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, early childhood education coursework preferred
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare setting is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual and able to adapt to changing needs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to abide by all of the Center's policies including NAEYC's 'Code of Ethical Conduct'.
- Flexibility to work with staff and all groups of children equally well.
Physical Requirements:The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
- Requires substantial movement
- Visual acuity within normal
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. without
Additional Requirements:
- Hours are approx. 1: 30 pm to 5:30 pm.
- Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment criminal background checks and drug
- Work is performed on a smoke free
- Certification in First Aid and CPR a plus
- Ability to fill in other hours as needed is helpful
