Help make a difference and join our mission by securing an exciting career with YWCA Harford Region!Compensation: $29.00 /hour The Site Manager is to direct the activities associated with the successful delivery of childcare programs and services at the site level. The role will ensure that curriculum content and activities foster educational and personal growth of each child in care, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Ensure that the site consistently meets the Office of Early Childhood and NAEYC health and safety standards;
  • Ensure that staff are utilizing the Name to Face Accountability to ensure the safety and well-being of children;
  • Follow defined State and YWCA protocols for reporting suspect child abuse or neglect, to include documentation, notification of OEC, NAEYC and DCF when applicable;
  • Establish staff schedules and contingency staffing plans to ensure adherence to state mandated staff to child ratios;
  • Ensure that staff are following all CACFP documentation and procedures;
  • Work with the Instructional Leader in the planning and implementation of age appropriate educational programs at a site level;
  • Review and monitor curriculum and lesson plan development and implementation;
  • Monitor children's progress to ensure activities are meeting the students educational and developmental needs;
  • Review individual child observations, assessments and family conference forms to ensure adherence to the Intentional Teaching cycle and developmentally appropriate practice;
  • Ensure staff adherence to YWCA Positive Guidance Policy and the Atypical Behavior process;
  • Arrange and lead all Inclusion Support Plan meetings with families, staff and outside agencies, to include proper documentation;
  • Oversee the implementation of all Inclusion Support plans and support families and staff as they work with the child;
  • Supervise program staff and perform monthly observation and evaluation, to include documentation and tracking of evaluations;
  • Provide guidance and assistance to staff in the delivery of high quality programs and services;
  • Facilitate effective communication between staff and families in the resolution of issues or concerns;
  • Implement and monitor the consistent application of defined YWCA statements, policies and procedures;
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with and ongoing achievement of state licensing, NAEYC accreditation and school readiness standards;
  • Provide accurate and timely performance feedback and coaching to staff;
  • Identify performance improvement needs and initiate corrective action and/or staff development plan;
  • Perform site related fiscal activities including but not limited to: the review and approval of staff time sheets, management of the site petty cash account, accounts receivable and payables;
  • Participate in the development of the sites annual budget, monitor the approved budget, grants and payments and services;
  • Increase program revenue through the participation in the childcare related community events/activities, recruitment and enrollment of children and collaboration on the development and implementation of the site marketing plan;
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, families, peers and associates;
  • Support other sites and programs with maintaining ratio (i.e., ELCs and Kidslink);
  • Foster cross program/site collaboration, flexibility and cooperation;
  • Remain current with trends, developments and best practices within the field of child care and early childhood education;
  • Participate in training and other professional development activities to enhance knowledge and understanding of racial justice and woman's empowerment;
  • Align programs and services both implicitly with mission of eliminating racism and empowering women;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
  • The Site Manager is an exempt position. Due to the nature of the work, some weekend and evening hours will be required for training, meetings, and/ or events.

Requirements Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in early childhood education, social work, psychology, community development, or related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years' related experience in child development program required;
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Head Teacher role required;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state licensing and accreditation guidelines required;
  • Basic knowledge of the principles of Child Development required;
  • Prior experience in preparation and monitoring of operational budget preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop age appropriate exhibits and activities for the classroom
License or Certifications:
  • CPR/First Aid certified or certification within two (2) months of employment;
  • Must have driver's license and reliable transportation.
