POSITION SUMMARY:

The coordinator will assure the program quality and content of the Early Learning Program. Supervise camp Facilitator to ensure quality and consistency of the day camp program. Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the Early Learning programs at a specific location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervising facilitator to ensure quality and consistency of the program.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe site.
  • Complete administrative tasks -- gathering data, completing paperwork, filing.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies.
  • Ensure adherence to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enthusiastic, Fun, Great Personality, Outgoing.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, appropriately and correctly both verbally and in writing with parents, children, co-workers, volunteers and supervisors.
  • Minimum of age 18 years old.
  • Certifications: CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention & Risk Management.
  • Upon hire: Fingerprints/Background Check and TB test are required.

PAY RANGE: $26 - $28/Hour

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
  • Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.

Job Segments:

Curriculum Planning and Implementation for Early Learning Program:

  • Plans and implements developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive early childhood program based on current research in child development and aligning with the state Early Learning Standards.
  • Plans an environment and activities that facilitate the cognitive, physical, social, emotional, language/linguistic development of children ages birth through 5. Plans 13 interest areas, including an outside area and sets up/breaks down environment on an as needed basis.
  • Plans and implements program consistent with local Y strategic plan with an emphasis on health and wellness.
  • Submits monthly lesson plan to the supervisor for review in accordance with lesson plan procedures.

Health and Safety Practices:

  • Sets up and maintains the learning environment by arranging materials in appropriate, safe, and attractive ways. Uses and teaches universal health practices, following all health and safety guidelines established by the YMCA and facilitates cleaning/sanitizing of materials and equipment daily.

Recordkeeping of the caregivers and participants:

  • Maintains enrollment forms, attendance, and health records up to date. Submits all required documents to Program Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Order/purchase supplies and materials as needed. Monitors supply level and places orders in a timely manner to replenish and maintain necessary materials to facilitate smooth operation of the program. Monitors spending to meet budget limit.
  • Helps to track and report on all required funding metrics.

Assessment:

  • Collects quarterly surveys from families.
