Uploaded proof of education is required.POSITION INFORMATION: Elementary Locations:: Bassette, Mary Jackson Burbank Supervisor: Building Principal Employment Period: 10 months Employment Status: Part-time (up to 25 hours/week) Pay Grade: H-09 2023-24 Hiring Range: $17.06 -- $20.01 per hour 2024-25 Hiring Range To Be Determined Grant funded: YesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The ERIA support staff position will be responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in planning, implementing, and assessing instructional programs for the ERIA intervention purposes. As determined by identified students needs, this individual will be assigned to work with multiple groups in various classrooms. Ongoing professional development will be an integral part of this position. This is an instructional support position responsible for assisting classroom teachers in providing direct instruction for students. This is a grant-funded position, which follows the assigned school calendar. Continuation of employment is dependent upon grant funding.
- Provide instruction and support with language arts objectives to small groups of K-3rd grade students.
- Participate in training sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate records of student data.
- Collaborate with teachers in both written and oral formats, to share information regarding student achievement.
- Assists in assessing and evaluating student achievement; modifies and tailors instructional activities to reach achievement goals for individual students and targeted student groups.
- Administers assessment tools to assess student abilities related to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.
- Performs clerical work related to instructional activities such as maintaining files of student work, sorting, filing, and duplicating of instructional materials.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess an Associates Degree or higher or have passed the ParaPro Exam.
- Applicants possessing a Virginia License or eligible for Virginia License in K-3 preferred.
- Experience or education related to working with students in an instructional setting is preferred.
- General knowledge of basic reading and writing subject matter.
- Some knowledge of basic instructional strategies preferred.
- Some knowledge of basic child learning and development principles preferred.
- Ability to apply basic instructional concepts and subject matter in a classroom environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, faculty, and others.
- Ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and diverse levels of educational achievement and ability.
