We strive to hire tradesmen directly from the communities where we work to leverage local knowledge and local relationships to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget. Brice performs large heavy civil construction operations to include large scale civil projects, drainage, repair of earthen dams and levees, roadways, bridges, airfields, parks, ranges, and stormwater management, water supply, wastewater collection, and on-site wastewater treatment systems for federal, states, and local entities. What can you expect? You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work for mass excavation, detailed excavation, grading, site prep, TopCon and basic GPS setup, and machine trouble shooting. You will manage project construction crews by directing work, reviewing schedules, ensuring the work is completed following plan specifications, and planning equipment needs. This position will be required to enforce the company's direction, policies, procedures, and safety standards. How will you do it?

  • You will execute work plans and schedules in accordance with contract requirements, plans, and specifications.
  • You will coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel.
  • You will provide adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs.
  • You will provide regular reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other officials.
  • You will coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
  • You will create schedules for workers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets, and daily management reports.
  • Responsible for timely completion of work assignments within the estimated costs.
  • You will continuously check the work of the crew and adjust the work or plan and schedule as required with notification to project management staff.
  • You may assist with various skilled trades and general construction duties as part of the construction crew leader to complete the project at hand.
  • You will ensure adherence to field project processes and standard operating procedures among team members.
  • You will assist with overseeing the work of the project crew, including:
    • Train and develop crew.
    • Provide leadership.
    • Promote morale and workplace safety.
    • Ensure workplace safety is practiced.
  • You are responsible for conducting yourself in the best interest of the company while on the job or representing Brice.
  • You are responsible for reporting any incident, situation, or activity that may affect the company's ability to operate safely, ethically, and profitably to the Field Civil Superintendent or Site Project Manager.
  • You will ensure that projects are executed safely according to contract specifications; specifically:
    • Actively support the Company's Health and Safety Program.
    • Stay apprised of on-site compliance and safety audits; suspend or modify work practices as necessary under the direction of the Project Management Team.
    • Verify all safety equipment needed for the project is used.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • You have a comprehensive knowledge and expertise for conducting skilled labor to complete skilled carpentry/structural work according to instructions and project specifications, as well as relevant technical skills and experience to mentor junior staff.
  • Your excellent communication skills will effectively convey information, provide feedback, and maintain open lines of communication with your team and other stakeholders.
  • You have experience with adapting to changing circumstances and adjusting plans and strategies as needed to ensure project success.
  • You're able to analyze and solve problems quickly and effectively and make sound decisions. You're innovative with the ability to look beyond standard solutions.
  • You're flexible and can work in a team environment and get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
  • You have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • You thrive on your writing skills with the ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.
Who is Brice Construction & Design LLC looking for? Required Qualifications:
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • You have a minimum of five years of experience in the civil construction field.
  • You have a minimum of three years of experience supervising a construction crew as a Foreman or Lead.
  • You can drive and have a valid state driver's license and are qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • You have Working knowledge of the scheduling, material control and unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals and job cost management systems preferred.
  • Experience with excavation and earthwork management experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour training completion preferred.
  • Your experience in federal government projects is highly desired.
