Basic Purpose of the Position: The purpose of this position is to comply with government regulations (EPA, FRA, and OSHA) and company standards while safely performing the transfers of hazardous and non-hazardous products from railroad and trucking tank cars.
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include performing the duties associated with the transfer of products, which involves climbing heights of 15 to 20 feet to perform inspections, climbing onto the top of tank cars and tank trucks to inspect and seal trailers, and operating various types of mechanical equipment such as small farm-type tractors and golf carts. Additional duties include performing preventive maintenance on equipment, such as changing oil, starters, batteries, and clutches. Employees are expected to perform equipment maintenance and inspections on all assigned equipment and hand tools and to perform housekeeping duties as required by site management. You will also be expected to comply with safety audits and maintain hazardous waste transfer logs, facility logs, and manifests. Preparing products for transfer, such as heating, sparging, and sampling, will also be part of the role.
Education Requirements: A high school education or equivalent is required.
Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements: This job requires the ability to work constantly outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, dust, and noisy environments. Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, and walking on uneven surfaces will be required. Employees should be able to walk 5 miles in a 3-hour period and occasionally up to 10 miles in a shift. The job involves frequently gripping forces of up to 80 lbs and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 60 lbs. Employees must be able to stand, bend, or climb for periods exceeding 2 hours and should have the ability to hear and communicate safety instructions. Additional requirements include the ability to wear respiratory protective equipment and full-body hazmat suits as necessary. The position also requires the ability to work independently and safely cross open spans at heights of up to 20 feet.
