Position Overview:We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team in East Lyme, CT. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students. This role involves working closely with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support students' communication skills and contribute to their overall academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the specific needs of each student.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, language, and social communication.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom setting.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional insights and recommendations to support student success.
- Educate and support teachers and families on strategies to promote communication development.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school district and state regulations.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and legal requirements in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Connecticut license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
