Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Developer / Senior Developer to work with our PRH Digital Product Development and Operation technical team to help in the creation and maintenance of tools and processes used to create ebooks. This candidate will be responsible for requirements gathering, tool development, support and process improvement for our ebook production and other projects. Our group is responsible for all of the ebooks that PRH publishes in the US and ensuring that our ebooks are rendering well in market and with the best experience we can provide for our authors. This is a great opportunity to engage in building the future of digital reading and help contribute with our team oriented approach to managing our ebook application development. These tools allow us to ensure that our ebooks are rendered well across the widest range of reading systems in the rapidly changing digital environments where that content would be consumed.This role will develop applications that aid our production teams in the creation, validation and quality assurance of individual ebooks. They will create software tools with an eye towards streamlining processes, removing redundancies, and automating as much as possible in the production process and our work to update our catalog. This role will work closely with the VP, Ebook Technologies, the SVP, and all areas of Digital Product Development and Operations, especially the Digital Product Development and Operations technical team and the Ebook production teams. This position may represent Penguin Random House in various industry communities as we work to help build standards and improve the digital reading experience. They will test and implement best practices and share ideas as technology improvements are made across our production tools and digital products. The salary range for the senior developer-level is $95,000-$120,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
