Position, align and fit together fabricated wire, plates, pipes, and structural shapes preparatory to assembly into structural fabricated products by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Uses hand welding and flame cutting equipment such as mig welders, gas welders, and gas torches to weld together metal components (flat, horizontal, or vertical plates and pipes.)Joins together components of fabricated sheet metal assemblies, or cut or trims metal objects to dimensions as specified by layout, work orders, or blueprints.Build parts to print specifications. Accuracy - within stated tolerances.Production efficiency requirements must meet or exceed job standards as determined by each job.May perform other duties as requested.May participate on project teams as requested.Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.Works in a safe manner is responsible for wearing necessary welding hood, goggles, protective shoes, etc. for personal safety.Layout tables and/or builds jigs to blueprint specifications.Performs other routine duties, such as: training, forklift operator, machine operator, etc.ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIP:Division ManagerPlant ManagerSenior Production SupervisorEC1012QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Lifting Frequency: Medium heavy lifting 80 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs. 67 - 100% of the time. Ability to stack objects head high.
- Vision: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Repetitive Hand Action: Firm grasping - the ability to exert sufficient grip to pick-up a case of 12 oz. soft drinks or to pick-up a bowling ball. Requires approximate grip strength of 45-60 lbs. on a hand dynamometer.
- Fine Manipulation of Hands/Fingers: Sufficient coordination to place and screw a small washer on a bolt, to pick-up clip from a desk top, or pick up a dime off a counter top. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Ability to work in two (2) person teams.
