Position Summary:Under the direct supervision of the Early Childhood Center Director, the ECDC Support Staff will ensure the front desk at the Early Childhood Development Center is organized, student records are maintained and updated, and phones are answered in a timely manner. Along with the front office support staff responsibilities, this position also encompasses the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Essential Functions:
Manage and organize the front office.Monitor and track food service paperwork.Answer phones and greet families.Provide ECDC parents with printouts/statements when requested.Track student attendance and recordsPurchases all food and supplies. Occasionally fill in for the ECDC CookMaintain a professional, respectful, positive attitude towards employees, members, and participants.Exemplify the core mission values of the YMCA while performing all duties.Complete required YMCA pieces of training according to Edwardsville YMCA employee policy.Performs other duties as assigned.OUR CULTURE: Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years of college or equivalent experience.Thorough understanding of office procedures and experience in billing, general office work, filing, and preparation of reports.Current Food Handlers Certificate Strong writing, communication, and computer skillsKnowledgeable in Microsoft Office products and comfortable learning new computer programs.Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications and training. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all community social and economic segments.Ability to handle confidential materials appropriatelyFirst Aid and CPR certifications or obtain upon hireFavorable criminal background check.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:?
