This role will consist of daylight weekday and weekend coverage, offering a flexible number of shifts per month. \n The Presbyterian Echo department is a brand new state of the art lab. Apply today to find out where your career can take you! \n Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer. \n Echocardio Sonographer starting rate: $31.15/hour\n Echocardio Sonographer Adv starting rate: $33.33/hourResponsibilities:\n\nReviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data.\nUtilizes appropriate ultrasound instrumentation for procedures and demonstrates knowledge of equipment operations, applications and scanning techniques resulting in optimized image data/documentation.\nEnsures all completed exams are properly coded and identified for electronic processing and storage according to department standards.\nAssures charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.\nPerforms Cardiac Ultrasound procedures according to guidelines established by the Medical Director.\nProcedures must be performed in the established time frame and according to established protocol.\nProcedures include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, and Echo with contrast.\nAssists physicians with invasive procedures as necessary and adheres strictly to the universal protocol standards.\nObtains appropriate echocardiographic images according to department policy and industry standards, including M-Mode, 2D, Doppler, Color Flow Doppler, Transesophageal echo, echo enhancement, bubble and contrast studies, and Stress echocardiography.\n Echocardio Sonographer Requirements: \n\nCompletion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program required.\n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\nRegistered or registry eligible with physics portion of registry obtained is preferred.\nMust obtain registry within 12 months of hire date.\nCPR or BLS required.\nAct 33, 34, 73 as required by business unit in Pennsylvania locations only.\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\nAct 34\n\n Echocardio Sonographer Adv Requirements:\n\nCompletion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program or professional equivalent required. \n2 years of echo experience required.\nPerformance review consistent with minimum of Strong Solid performance on last performance review.\n\n Licensure, Certification, and Clearances:\n\nRegistry required.\nCPR/BLS required.\nAct 33, 34, 73 as required by business unit.\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
