Position: Economics and Planning Analyst

Location: Toledo, OH

Employment Type: Full-time, on-site

Compensation: $125K, with a 15% bonus.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Economics and Planning Analyst to optimize gasoline blending processes and support refinery operations. This role will focus on leveraging LP models, managing production schedules, and ensuring compliance with clean fuels standards. The ideal candidate will act as a critical liaison between Operations, Logistics, Commercial, and Technical teams to drive efficiency and maximize profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce optimal blend schedules and recipes for gasoline blending.
  • Maintain and advance LP models for planning, economic evaluations, and predictive calculations.
  • Monitor gasoline production rates and manage inventory to align with pipeline schedules.
  • Evaluate and recommend refinery operating modes to enhance blending performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to adjust production priorities and address gasoline quality variances.
  • Provide data for clean fuels compliance reporting (quarterly and annual).
  • Analyze lost profit opportunities and assist in oil flow planning scenarios.
  • Participate in the development of tools to improve gasoline blending capabilities and support long-term strategies.
  • Act as a key contributor to refinery performance reviews, identifying and addressing operational challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering).
  • Minimum of 2 years of refinery experience.
  • Strong understanding of refinery flow and key unit interactions.
  • Proficiency in LP modeling and PI Data Acquisition systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong intuition for numbers and data manipulation.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Preferred experience with gasoline blending processes and clean fuels compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in gasoline blending optimization.
  • Familiarity with economic evaluations and reporting tools.
