The Emergency Department Concierge at Good Samaritan Hospital will be responsible for greeting all patients and visitors while providing accurate information to any inquiries in a professional and efficient manner. Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining an excellent reception area, creating a central point of contact for all patients utilizing all I-Care concepts, guests and staff. Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment while multitasking. Will assist visitors with way finding, patient information and facility information all in an effort to enhance the patient and visitor experience.
**Roles and Responsibilities:**
* Greet people as they enter through the Walk-in Entrance of Emergency Department
* Direct patients to triage area
* Assist in Triage process if necessary (filling out cards, kiosks, etc.)
* If necessary, assist with wheelchair or removing from vehicle
* Notify triage nurse immediately for excessive bleeding or complaint of chest pain
* Assist visitors to the hospital to other areas or to security for visitor identification
* During times of low entry and/or double staffing, round on patients in the Emergency Department
* Provide comfort care such as pillows, blankets, food and drink (after checking with nurse)
* Assist with stocking IV Carts, cubicles, etc.
* Clean stretchers and prepare for next patient
* Any other non-clinical activities as directed by Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager or designee
**Requirements:**
* Knowledge of departmental policies/procedures.
* Ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
* Willing and able to work in a stressful environment.
* Physically able to stand for long periods and assist with transporting of patients as needed.
* BLS or CPR/AED training required
